Pritchard Sensei
Bend Aiki Martial Arts is proud to introduce volunteer-based instruction for our KOBUDO curriculum. Our senior Kobudo Program instructor, John Pritchard, holds a yondan (4th dan) in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido and a shodan (1st dan) in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. He has trained extensively in both systems with various senior-level practitioners throughout North America, and has also studied both systems during trips to Japan. John began his Budo training in the mid 1970's with Judo, and practiced Muay Thai and Arnis prior to beginning his formal study of Budo Taijutsu in 1995 in Vancouver, BC. John's instruction of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is done with the encouragement, support and sponsorship of Shihan Phil Legare (15th dan in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu and co-founder of Shinkentaijutsu). John has studied Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido since 1996, and began teaching at the request of his instructors in 2000. He led the Nelson Eishin Ryu Iai Dojo in Nelson, BC Canada from 2000 to 2003.
